Friday Cards & Box Promos

Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate
Precious Memories - Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate - Chisato Sumiyoshi Chisato Sumiyoshi (01-001)

Cost: 4 Source: 1 AP: 40 DP: 30

When your character named 「Chisato Sumiyoshi」 approaches and is put into your trash, when another one of your characters named 「Chisato Sumiyoshi」 approaches, it gets +20/+20 until end of turn and then stand it. It may approach one additional time this turn.

Types: School Uniform

Thoughts and comments
These days in Precious Memories, the cards that can approach more than once each turn are usually the strongest, which tells me the Chisato deck is going to be the KoiChoco deck to beat.

Card of the Day

Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate
Precious Memories - Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate - Michiru Morishita Michiru Morishita (01-013)

Cost: 2 Source: 2 AP: 30 DP: 20

During your opponent’s turn, this card gets +10/+10.

[Approach/Both]: {0} Put this card into your trash. This card and a card with the same name or type gets +10/+10 until end of turn.

Types: Kimono

Thoughts and comments
I assume that the timing on this card’s second ability allows it to get the +10/+10 bonus to deal the damage to a blocking or blocked character…I’ll have to check that. But having to put it into your trash to get the bonus…I’m not sure what’s up with that. Perhaps there’s some other KoiChoco cards that combo with this effect because I seem to recall another card with that ability as well. Difficult to call, but as of right now, it looks very weak.

Card of the Day

Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate
Precious Memories - Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate - Nozomi Edagawa Nozomi Edagawa (01-082)

Cost: 3 Source: 2 AP: 40 DP: 30

When this character approaches and your opponent plays a character, your opponent discards 2 cards.

When your character named 「Nozomi Edagawa」 approaches and deals damage to your opponent, discard 1 card, then draw 2 cards.

Types: Swimsuit / Goggles

Thoughts and comments
There’s a lot going on with this card, but it all seems to err on the respectable side of the spectrum rather than try to do anything particularly spectacular. Really, I think this is a sad set of abilities on a 4-star rarity (the equivalent of Magic’s mythic rare).

Card of the Day

Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate
Precious Memories - Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate - Satsuki Shinonome Satsuki Shinonome (01-062)

Cost: 4 Source: 2 AP: 30 DP: 30

When this card approaches or blocks, choose 1 of your opponent’s characters. That character gets -10/-10 until end of turn.

[Approach/Both]: {1} Draw 1 card. This card gets +10/+10 until end of turn.

Types: School Uniform / Glasses

Thoughts and comments
It’s always valuable to have an ability that you can dump your 1 source cards into for card draw. I think this will be stronger on defense so that you can choose the character you’re blocking for the -10/-10 target because you can’t guarantee that your opponent will cooperate and block with the character you want (or block at all for that matter).

Thursday Cards of the Day

Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate
Precious Memories - Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate - Yuuki Oojima Yuuki Oojima (01-046)

Cost: 2 Source: 2 AP: 20 DP: 20

When this character approaches and deals damage to your opponent, you may put all cards in both players’ point piles into their owner’s trash.

Types: School Uniform

Thoughts and comments
One of those interesting little commons that seems to keep popping up every set as of late. Difficult to call just how good this card really might be.
Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate
Precious Memories - Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate - Chisato Sumiyoshi Chisato Sumiyoshi (01-005)

Cost: 3 Source: 2 AP: 30 DP: 30

When you play this character or when this character approaches, choose 2 of your characters. Until end of turn, those characters get +20/±0 and when the chosen characters approach and deal damage to your opponent, draw 1 card.

Types: School Uniform

Thoughts and comments
The most important part of size bonuses is defense. Giving an AP bonus encourages attacking and helps ensure a trade with an opponent’s character (plus a nice card draw bonus), but no DP bonus means you need to make sure you’re trading a less valuable character for one of equally small value and that’s bound to come back to bite you later.

Card of the Day

Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate
Precious Memories - Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate - Mifuyu Kiba Mifuyu Kiba (01-035)

Cost: 2 Source: 2 AP: 0 DP: 0

For each of your <Maid> 『Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate』 characters, this card gets +10/+10.

When this card is put from the play area into your trash, put it into your support area instead.

Types: Maid

Thoughts and comments
We haven’t seen the whole set just yet, so I can only speculate that the second ability has a deeper meaning than being a penalty that prevents you from ever being able to play this specific card in your main area ever again.

Card of the Day

Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate
Precious Memories - Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate - Isara Aomi Isara Aomi (01-014)

Cost: 2 Source: 2 AP: 30 DP: 20

During your turn, this card gets +20/±0.

[Approach/Both]: {0} Put this card into your trash. This card and another card with the same name or type gets +10/+10 until end of turn.

Types: Kimono

Thoughts and comments
I’m not sure how the timing works on the second ability, but I’m guessing it gets to take advantage of the +10/+10 bonus and deal damage to an opponent’s character before it dies. A very annoying card that can take down something of much higher value if played correctly.

Friday Cards of the Day

Girls und Panzer
Precious Memories - Girls und Panzer - Miho Nishizumi Miho Nishizumi (01-001)

Cost: 4 Source: 2 AP: 20 DP: 20

When you play this card, the cost of the next <Way of the Tank> character you play this turn is -4.

[Main/Both]: {REST} Choose 1 of your <Way of the Tank> characters. Until end of turn, that character gets +X/+Y where X is this character’s AP and Y is this character’s DP.

Types: School Uniform / Way of the Tank

Thoughts and comments
The first ability is good, but 4 cost is too much for a 20/20 body. While there might be some way to take advantage of the second ability, I don’t know what that might be. Not useless, but certainly not good. but you’ll need a perfect hand to pull it off. The second ability means this card is going into your support area and I’m not the biggest fan of support cards that cost 4. Giving +20/+20 or more to one of your characters is nothing to scoff at, but a well-prepared defender ought to be able to handle it.

Good size for the cost and a good first ability and a decent second ability. Nothing really to complain about.

Card of the Day

Girls und Panzer
Precious Memories - Girls und Panzer - Mako Reizei Mako Reizei (01-076)

Cost: 1 Source: 2

When you play this card, the cost of the next <Way of the Tank> character you play this turn is -3.

[Main/Own]: {0} Choose one of your characters. Until end of turn, when that character approaches and deals damage to your opponent, draw 1 card.

Types: Way of the Tank

Thoughts and comments
Very strong, useful card. I expect to see three or four copies of this card in every Girls und Panzer deck. The tactic is to either choose one of your characters that your opponent simply can’t block, one your opponent doesn’t want to block or choosing one of your junk characters with high AP and encouraging your opponent to trade one of his or her characters rather than take a point and allow you to draw a card.

Card of the Day

Girls und Panzer
Precious Memories - Girls und Panzer - Yukari Akiyama Yukari Akiyama (01-090)

Cost: 2 Source: 2 AP: 30 DP: 0

You may play this card during your opponent’s main phase.

When this card is put into your trash from the play area, return it to your hand.

Types: Swimsuit / Way of the Tank

Thoughts and comments
I really, REALLY wish I could play this card during my opponent’s approach phase too, so that I could have a recurring blocker. This is still a really good card that can pull double duty attacking and blocking over and over and if you decide you have something better to play instead, it returns to your hand to be used as source.
